Delhi Police have uncovered a major black-marketing racket involving IPL “Not For Sale” tickets. Four accused were arrested near Delhi Gate for allegedly posing as authorised representatives of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and illegally selling IPL tickets.
Police recovered a total of 54 IPL tickets from the accused, including 33 complimentary passes marked “Not For Sale.” According to officials, these tickets were being sold for as much as ₹20,000 each.
Identity Of The Accused And Investigation
The arrested accused have been identified as Mukeem, Gufran alias Sajid, Mohammad Faisal, and later, Pankaj Yadav. Police said the group travelled across different cities during IPL matches and operated an organised ticket black-marketing network.
Alleged Links To DDCA Officials
During interrogation, Pankaj Yadav reportedly claimed that the complimentary passes were sourced through DDCA General Manager and CEO RR Singh and his assistant Rakesh. However, the allegations are currently under investigation.
Absconding Accused And Criminal Background
Police also revealed that a fifth accused, identified as Ajay, is still absconding. He allegedly has a history of ticket black-marketing cases linked to cinema halls and the Commonwealth Games.

Connection With Betting Networks
Investigators found that premium tickets were allegedly supplied to people involved in online betting and satta operations. The accused reportedly introduced themselves as event management and cricket administration representatives to gain buyers’ trust.
Police Action
The Delhi Crime Branch has registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). All four arrested accused are currently in police custody, while the role of certain DDCA officials is being closely examined.
